Maca root is a great food supplement. It’s really helpful in regulating our hormones. Some people say it is a libido enhancer. I don’t think they would get this effect if there wasn’t a problem there in the first place, although I could be wrong. But most literature that I’ve read indicates it normalizes certain of our body’s systems. So, if they are out of balance in one way, they will be brought back into regular range by supplementing with maca.
Maca root can also help from a nutritional point of view, by supplying much needed minerals, vitamins, and amino acids to the body. It can help with our immune systems, which is great if you have a tendency to catch colds and flu easily. I kind of wish I’d taken my own advice on that one, as I’ve had a bit of a flu since just after Christmas. But I’m adding fresh ginger to some juices and it seems to be working.
