Every society has strong ideas of what an ideal body looks like. Especially the young people in the society.In the West, at the moment, this has probably gone too far. We seem to be almost obsessed by how we look, and the vast industries that grow rich on this are testament to this.
Billions are spent, every year, on products and services that will make us look "good". We seem to desperately want to be like the beautiful people we are shown in magazines and movies who look great, and have the wealth, spouse and happiness we want.There’s a lot of pressure on young people today, and for conservative groups in Western societies this can be a problem when younger members are pulled into this maelstrom of perfect bodies and dream-like lives.Take Jewish people, for instance.
Jewish parents hope their children would follow role models who are good on the inside and not just good looking on the outside.
