A few years back I went on trip to the San Juan Islands. Upon our return to Seattle by ferry boat, after camping and kayaking for four days, we trudged up the hill to a fancy hotel where we made reservations before leaving home. We were dirty, tired and hungry. Anyway, as we were pulling the suitcases up the hill, one of them completely fell apart. When we arrived at the hotel reception desk we must have looked like homeless people with our ruined bag with clothes hanging out, and they were so rude to us. The very next morning we went in search of cheap luggage for sale in order to make our journey home. I will never stay at that hotel again because they judged us by how we looked and what we were carrying instead of asking if we could use some help.

I know that the best schools make use of their students’ mind and imagination to come up with solutions to the problems that we are facing now. Some of the great inventions come from students. And maybe if we were to give them Homemade Biodiesel Kits they can probably make make biodiesel as easy as if they were counting 1, 2, 3. Or we can give them the equipment but not the ingredients and they can think of alternatives to ingredients used in making biodiesel. Only natural resources are allowed to be use. I am sure these students will think of something as they have already thought of greater, more complicated things than making biodiesel.
