Oh, not again. It was bad enough that some dork had smashed into my car and damaged the driver’s side. No, now some punk had come blasting into my store, slamming the door open, and broke one of my favorite neon open signs. I was, to put it mildly, upset. My collection of neon signs was legendary in the small waterfront community, and each day I used a different sign. Keeping folks guessing was a game, and to be honest, cheap entertainment for me as well.
As I cleaned up the mess, memories of where that sign had come from came flooding back to me. It had been a find- stuck in a dusty corner out of view in an antique shop. I could hardly contain myself when I saw it, and bought it instantly, not even knowing if it worked or not. I mean, how often was a girl going to get a sign shaped like cowboy buns in Wrangler jeans?
That sign would be missed greatly.
