There is no mystery to trading commodities

There is a general misconception abroad in the land – that there is something dark and mysterious about trading commodities.  In fact, is is as open and transparent as the mind could imagine.  Whether transacted by open outcry in the pits or over the electronic wire, everything is revealed to the trader.  It is most helpful in developing trades if the trader already has knowledge of Candlesticks, which so beautifully reveal the underlying psychiology of the market at any given time.

One major pitfall which is often associated with commodities trading is that the risk cannot be controlled, and the trader could lose everything in a flash.  That can be true if he tries to sell something which he does not already own.  Doesn’t that follow other aspects of life, too?  What one must do is to place his own money on the table at the beginning of the trade in a way that his risk is limited to the amount that he has invested.  The best and surest way to do that is to buy, not sell, Options; for with Options, your risk is limited to the amount you have invested.

I have found that the Japanese Candlesticks method of price presentation is most helpful in the development of my trading approach.

Pink planes.

I had a wonderful young woman come into me the other day and told me that I was probably going to think that she was nuts for what she wants, but gave it to me anyway. She wanted a curtains baby of course, made in pink for girls, but have a little plane scene on it. She was in the air force. I told her that I did not find that strange at all. I was actually excited about this one. She lived just about ten minutes from here on the base. She had a picture of her and her team in front of a plane to put into the scene.

Yet, even at this stage, you will still have no idea of the blissful Oasis that lies within. Expect to be surprised…

Internet Recruiting Made the Difference

My first few weeks as a recruiter I thought that I had the easiest job on the planet.  Then upper management handed us a directive to hire over two hundred qualified employees by the end of summer.  That was in March.

Our staff quickly realized that we would need help, so we subscribed to several websites featuring internet recruiting.  We were able to filter applicants by search criteria and get only qualified resumes.  After that we set up interviews and  began a massive hiring process.

We actually made our deadline, to the delight of management.  But we couldn’t have done it without the efficiency of the Internet.

Mr. Fred’s Wild Ride

The year I turned eighteen my family decided we would go to Europe to celebrate my graduation from high school.

My Uncle, known as “Mr. Fred”, joined us and volunteered to do the driving. He said he knew Europe “like the back of his hand”.

We began by renting a standard right-hand car and Mr. Fred turned out to be a bit rusty at driving it. So, after some really scary and very fast, trips, we decided on a new plan.

Fortunately we were able to find a rental lhd Land Rover and my father did the rest of the driving. Mr. Fred didn’t say much, but I think he might have been secretly relieved.
