When used properly, the crate can advance the process of housebreaking a puppy. Dogs do not like to go potty where they lay, rest, or sleep. So, the crate is great place for the puppy when your making a run to the grocery store or going out for dinner. Then, when you come home, immediately let the puppy out and take her outside. Don’t expect a puppy to hold it in their crate all day though. If you do, you’ll be cleaning up messes and giving many baths. Not only that, it will desensitize your puppy to laying in a mess and reverse the potty training progress.
