This Georgian Revival mansion was built in 1905 by Robert Todd Lincoln who was the only child of Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln to survive to adulthood. He became a wealthy businessman as the Chairman of the Pullman Palace Car Company which was the largest manufacturing corporation at the turn of the 20th century. The Lincoln Family home remained in the family until 1975.Situated on 412 acres of beautiful Vermont landscape the mansion has gardens, trails, woods and a farm for you to enjoy on your Vermont vacation. You can take a hike in the woods and read the interpretive signs that tell about the plants and trees that are in the area. Visit the farm and see the animals that are kept there. Check out the 1,000 pipe organ that is in the entrance hall which is believed to be the oldest residential pipe organ with a player attachment still in its original location and still working in the United States.Enjoy a stroll through the formal gardens near the mansion. The gardens were designed in 1907 for Mary Harlan Lincoln by her daughter, Jessie. It resembles a Gothic cathedral stained glass window. There are still 1,000 of the original peonies that blossom in mid-June to add their beautiful color to the garden.

I know that it is more and more common for people to start their own businesses working from home. I also know that a lot of these businesses must be small businesses where people sell things at parties. What are the most common businesses for Home Based Business Professionals, and which businesses tend to be the most lucrative? I want to do something that is going to bring in a decent amount of money, and I want to make sure that I don’t fall into any scams, so I am trying to look into which opportunities are legitimate and lead to real incomes.

In the soon to be released trading card game Herobits, Li Kui is one of the heroes. His quote on the Herobits website is: “The measure of a civilization is not the height of its buildings, but how well its people relate to the environment.” How awesome is it to have characters in a children’s card game teaching children, in essence, to respect the earth? It reminds me of the cartoon Captain Planet and the Planeteers, which was my favorite cartoon as a child. Except that these characters are so much cooler that the Planeteers ever were. And more handsome, but don’t tell my husband that I called a card game character handsome!

I visited my doctor last week for my annual physical. She did a bone density scan to make sure that i was not developing osteoporosis. She ended up prescribing a medication that is supposed to help with the prevention of this disease. I really don’t like taking medications unless it is really necessary. After reading the material that she sent home with me I have decided that the side effects of bisphosphonate drugs seem to be pretty serious. I would rather try to find some sort of alternative treatment if at all possible, something more natural. I plan to talk to my doctor tomorrow and ask her advise.
