Today I received a phone call from my mother. We usually talk every single week, but we haven’t talked for the past 3 weeks or so. My mother and father have been away on vacation, so we had a lot to catch up on. My mom was telling me about their time in Florida, and Georgia. She was also telling me that my father has been quite busy with work lately. My mom and dad are planning another trip to a White Rock BC BB. I’m so excited for the both of them. I think their trip is going to be sweet.

It is thought by many on the Car Forums that Robert McNamara Stopped the rot that had started to eat at the Ford Motor Group back in the 1950′s. In the mid 50′s McNamara opposed Ford’s planned Edsel automobile and worked to stop the program even before the first car rolled off the assembly line. That was a bold move for someone who had previous experience of army life but not the auto industry. He eventually succeeded in ending the program in November 1959. The car continues to be seen as one of the largest blunders in automotive history. He was rewarded on November 9, 1960 by being named as the first president of Ford from outside the family of Henry Ford. He received substantial credit for Fords expansion and success in the postwar period.

The emails with links to videos are starting to get out of hand. Since Kevin is gone and nobody is monitoring acceptable use, people around here have just gone nuts. If I get one email a day with funny videos, I get 15.
I don’t know how people have so much time on their hands to watch all this junk. I know that I don’t. I can barely keep up with the bare minimum I have to get done every day. No time to sit around and watch videos, let alone send all these distracting emails to everybody else.
It would help if a few of these were remotely funny, too. I keep getting suckered in to watching, and then they just aren’t very good.
I know. Every party has a pooper. Maybe I just need a vacation.

It is my own fault that I was drafted to head up our local charity’s fund-raising committee. I was already on the committee and had a business degree. This made me the perfect, and only, candidate for the job. I sat down with the charity’s president and was appalled to realized we had almost no budget, no office, and no equipment. We put our heads together and decided to rent desk space. With a few borrowed laptops and our own cell phones, my volunteers and I put together over fifty charity events in the next few years. We raised thousands of dollars, and spent almost nothing.
