Georgia Licenses for Private Investigators
April 4th, 2008
The state of Georgia requires licensing for several different categories. The secretary of state is responsible for maintaining licenses and keeping records. When hiring a Private Investigator it is wise to check with the secretary of state in order to make sure the private investigator is licensed and insured. In order to become a private investigator the state requires several things. Either two or more year’s law enforcement experience or two years experience working for a licensed investigator. The state also requires those who did not serve as law enforcement to take a three month class. All private investigators must have 1,000,000 in liability insurance.
