Insurance against Errors and Omissions

July 5th, 2008

For professionals who run their own businesses and provide client services, errors and omissions insurance is a necessity. Errors and omissions insurance will cover you in the event a lawsuit arising from actual or perceived mistakes. Should a client be unsatisfied enough to pursue a lawsuit claiming that something your business did incorrectly or failed to do harmed them and created liability, e and o insurance will protect you. Just as doctors, even the best, most experienced, most highly skilled, carry malpractice insurance, so other service-providing professionals should carry errors and omissions insurance. After a lawsuit is filed is no time to discover that you need insurance.
