I have a friend who only speaks in extremes. When we went out for ice cream last week, he said it was the best ice cream he had ever had in his entire life. When we looked at cell phones, he said that the iPhone was the single most important piece of technology ever invented and no one would be able to surpass it. When we went to the Lakers game, he said that it was the best game he had ever seen and that they had played better than they had ever played before. And when the airspeed indicators went out in his plane, he said that it was the worst crises his plane had ever faced. Who knows; maybe he’s right about all of those things… but I doubt it.
