Protecting Yourself From Credit Card Fraud

May 16th, 2009

When you have a credit merchant account, you’ll be dealing with a lot of credit card processing. And then you’ll be open to the risk of credit card fraud. You know how serious this can be – you don’t want chargebacks.  When dealing with credit card payments, it’s good to know your business inside and out so you’ll be able to develop a skill in spotting fraudulent transactions.  Maybe try to observe for oddities like an ill-timed purchase or very unusually large orders placed.  There’s just no way of telling a card has been stolen, unless the owner has reported the incident.  That’s way it’s always wise to be involved in the operations of your business so you knows exactly what’s going on.  This could, by far, be your most effective weapon against frauds.
