 I had an opportunity to vacation at the beautiful 7,276 acre Grapevine Lake last summer. The lake is located in what is considered the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. It is just minutes from Dallas-Fort Worth  Airport. And in  the backyard of Southlake Texas real estate

Grapevine Lake offers a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities. Nationally recognized trails, full service campgrounds, and beautiful day use areas surround the which hosts over 2,000,000 visitors, annually. Grapevine Lake offers camping, hiking and biking and equestrian trails, all types of water recreation, picnic facilities, pavilions for large gatherings, hunting, and much more. Grapevine Lake is also a popular sail boating and windsurfing lake. This lake was a 1950s developmentt of the Army Corp of Engineers. Which of course spurred the growth of small surrounding towns. No where is that more true than in Southlake.Once a farming area Southlake incorporated in 1956 and has be growing steadily ever since. The town is an family-orientated affluent community with mid size single family homes along with large estate size residents, many sitting on gorgeous rolling terrine.
