The 3 resume writing formats
May 8th, 2009
Before you start preparing your resume, it is essential that you know which format is the most appropriate for your job, industry and career level. There is three different formats of resumes: Chronological resumes are your typical resume, listing your experience and education in chronological order.
Chronological resumes are best suited for entry-level positions. Functional resumes focus on skills and results, showcasing your accomplishments. They are mostly used for result-oriented professions such as sales, executives and some technical jobs. The third resume writing format simply combines both chronological and functional formats, usually starting with a paragraph about accomplishments and best skills before listing experience and education in chronological order. This type of format is often used in technical fields.
