What Are The Different Types?

We are just starting the process of purchasing a home. We have been looking around at the available homes, and have yet to find one that we like enough to buy. However, we know that eventually we will find a house, and then we will need to get a home loan. So we are starting to do some research on home loans. I know there are a bunch of different types of home loans, and want to find out how they are different so that I can figure out which type we need to get when we purchase our new home.
