You better believe it — your resume will be checked

March 5th, 2008

Remember, when applying for any type of position, that the information detailed on your resume is subject to public scrutiny — and verification. It is not uncommon for a potential employer to do a background check on a prospective employee — and that begins with a verification of all of the information that they have provided on a resume. If your resume information is found to be incorrect, most employers will not take the hiring process any further — they will simply assume that you are attempting to gain a position through fraud and deception. Make sure that everything in your resume will stand up under the closest scrutiny.
