Do you need a hearing aid or not?
September 5th, 2008
I was told by a buddy that he was having hearing problems. He related that after retirement his hearing loss became progressively worse, but without the need to answer questions from classes of college students, he figured he could get by. His wife volunteered that she had bugged him for years to get fitted for a hearing aid, but he procrastinated. He thought an ear hearing aid would be too expensive, too cumbersome, and he didn’t like the stigma he thought went along with wearing one. He believed he could hear well enough, even though his family complained that he adjusted the TV volume way too loud and they almost always had to repeat themselves for him to hear.
