Myths in Weight Loss

May 24th, 2008

It has been said that consuming some foods, such as grapefruit and celery, is the fast way to lose weight. That is totally a myth. Some foods and drinks have been studied for their metabolism-increasing properties, such as red peppers and green tea, but the evidence is inconclusive. Some people who are sugar-addicts will tell you that sugar substitutes will help you with the calories that sugar adds to your body, but it also can cause your body to expect the energy that you don’t receive. There are side effects from most sugar substitutes. Cheese and milk may have zero carbohydrates, but they also have lots of sugar. And beware of energy drinks; they contain lots of sugar.
