Signs and Symptoms of Eating Disorder

Whenever eating disorders are discussed, one tends to think of skinny girls with zero size figures. However, there are many people suffering from a different type of eating disorder, which makes them obese. Compulsive eating disorder is an obsession to eat in order to escape various stresses and depressions in life. Different causes leads to different types of eating disorders but the symptoms are often similar in all of these disorders. The most common sign of compulsive eating disorder is low self-esteem and feeling of worthlessness. Compulsive eaters are often aware of the abnormal food habits but tend to overlook it due to lack of motivation to cope with several other emotional problems. People suffering from compulsive eating disorders often feel weak and fatigued. In addition, they fail to maintain a healthy body weight, prefer eating alone, perspire frequently and experiences increase in normal appetite when nervous or stressed.
