Smoking. What is in it for you?

Smoking causes heart disease. In fact, smoking is linked to over 50 diseases. Herat and lung cancer are only the common kown problems. Smoking not only cause heart and lung disases, it costs money as well. It is a major cause of fires in the home and is also responsible for a significant proportion of rubbish and litter. Tobacco smoke contains around 4,000 known chemicals. Top of the list, nicotine. A drug that stimulates the brain and keeps people addicted to smoking. It is responsible for the withdrawal symptoms experienced by those attempting to give up. They will experience craving, anxiety, restlessness, headaches, hunger, irritability and difficulty with concentration. Next is tar. Tar damages the surfaces of the lungs, eventually causing lung diseases. Carbon Monoxide given off during smoking combines with haemoglobin in the blood more readily than oxygen, making breathing less effective and putting strain on the heart. These are just the common ill effects - addiction, lung diseases and heart diseases. What is in for you?…
