Why People Gain Weight After Quitting Smoking

April 2nd, 2009

There are not one, but two main reasons why people gain weight after quitting smoking. First, you eat more because you are subconsciously trying to find a way to occupy your mouth now that the cigarettes are gone. Many people hesitate to try a Stop Smoking Product because they don’t want the trade-off of quitting smoking and getting fat. People who quit smoking may also eat more because suddenly, everything tastes a whole lot better. You may not realize that smoking dulls your taste buds, and quitting revives them. You just need to be conscious of what is going on with you when you quit smoking, so you can find ways to occupy yourself besides eating.
