Deck Restoration Made Easy

March 11th, 2009

I have to admit that I was not looking forward to the deck restoration project that was waiting for me.  We bought the house two years ago and I was able to get out of doing the work it needed last year.  This year my wife insisted that I take care of it.  I did a little research and asked some questions at the home store regarding the products and procedures that should be used.  I got a power washer and used a green product that wouldn’t harm the yard to clean all the mold and fungus off.  Once the wood dried I applied a clear coat epoxy type wood sealer.  It enhanced the natural beauty and is designed to protect the would from harmful UV rays.  It was really much easier than I expected it to be.
