Last minute hotel bookings may cost you more money.

January 15th, 2008

When you find the need to stay in a hotel room, you should try to make your reservations as soon as possible. Last minute hotel bookings may cost you more money. Most hotels do not book to capacity. Casinos are an exception, but generally, unless an event is being held in the area, most hotels have vacancies each night. When callers try to reserve a room at the last minute, or when guests make an attempt to just stop in and rent a room, many front desk clerks will tell them that only the most expensive rooms are available. This may not be the case, but it is the hotel’s way of guaranteeing that the most expensive rooms are rented for the night. It is there way of trying to recoup the costs of the vacant rooms.
