So what is a log home kit and what are its benefits? Log home kits are beneficial in that they can cost a lot less to construct. In terms of the kit itself it basically consists of logs which are pre-cut and dried. Then they are milled after which they are shaped so that they have the consistency of conventional logs. These kits are then referred to as log home kits. As mentioned the kits themselves are a lot less expensive than custom built log cabins. There is no doubt that log home kits are a viable alternative to the custom built log home.
