What’s worse – a flood or a fire?

Weird question, right? It’s been on my mind a lot lately though, mainly because I just had a flood that absolutely devastated my house and I’ve been dealing with the whole water damage restoration process, which is turning out to be a real headache. Plus, water damage can lead to mold growth, which is a whole problem in and of itself. But I guess with a fire there’s a greater likelihood of your whole house just going up in flames and not having anything left at all! I also know that soot can be really tenacious. I guess in the end they’re equally awful.
