Will the real camera please stand up

We all want to save money whenever we can.  If you are looking to buy cheap home security cameras you might consider not putting in real cameras at all.   Several phony cameras strategically located can give the impression to would be intruders that you have full coverage and that they are bing observed.  They are even more effective if you have battery operated red lights in each one.  Of course if the intruders fail to see the dummies or decide to go in anyway you will have no protection at all and they will help themselves and be gone without having been detected in their crime.
