Bulgarian music Tambour

The Key for the different sounding of the Bulgarian music are the instruments.The tambour is a stringed folk instrument.It is broadly used throughout Bulgaria.The tambour has a basic construstion. It consists of one sound box called “corpus” that has a pear like shape.There is also a long fingerboard,on which the different positions for playing are divided.The tambour has 4 pairs of strings-е1; h; g; d.The double strings do the high tone and enable the performer with higher techical ability.Sound reproducing is done through pressing the strings with a special particle. The tambour is a common instrument for the Pirinska ethographic area of Bulgaria.In all other areas it is used as an accompanying instrument(prety much like the guitar nowadays).
