How charity credit cards work

October 26th, 2008

Giving to those less fortunate is rewarding. For those who need a more steady way to donate or would like to donate using a credit card, there are now charity credit cards available. They will give a certain percentage of your purchases to the charity of choice or some plans allow the extra change when charges end on amounts that are not in exact dollar amounts to be carried over to the charity. Some just offer higher fees and of that amount goes the charity donation, not into the pockets of the card holders. The advantage of using a credit card to fund the donation is it is typically tax deductible. All you have to do is keep your statements for filing at the end of the year. It is that simple.
