Smoke Preventing Paint

The new types of latex paint that are being used in new home construction are excellent at blocking fire.  For that reason, many have come to call it fire paint.  Although it does do well in that department, perhaps the most life saving quality about this product is that it blocks the creation of deadly smoke in house fires.  Since smoke inhalation is the number one cause of death in house fires, that is pretty significant statistic.  Home builders are putting this paint in as a primer because it is such an added safety and insurance bonus, especially on new homes.
