Sporting popularity
October 3rd, 2008
During Mark McGwire’s 62nd homerun, a total of four local television stations and one magic store carried coverage and went on to present lengthy discussions of the event. This helped the general public in understanding the various rules and competition involved with the sport and ultimately led to a greater appreciation for the sport as a whole. It is with this understanding that interest in the sport and consequently advertisers money are created and produced. A big event like this is then encouraged by the sport leaders as it leads to increased revenue flow and game attendence.
