Using frequent flyer miles credit cards to accrue points for annual vacations

I have been looking into getting a new credit card for my wife. We both have a connected account and there is no reason why we can’t combine the credit card account. The bills get paid regularly on a month to month basis so we avoid any interest cost. My main idea behind doing this is the points that could be accrued by a joint effort. I have started to research the options for frequent flyer miles credit cards to see if this is a viable option. It could be a great way to offset some of the purchasers that we make and to reduce the cost of out annual vacation.
