What are the Current Gold Prices?

When looking at the troubled economy today I am not really interested in investing any money in the stock market.  My wife and I recently sold our house and were miraculously able to get what we were asking for it.  We are moving to a smaller townhouse now that our children have left the house.  We have a nice chunk of cash that we want to invest in something.  I think we should find out what the current gold prices are and considering investing our money in gold.  I like the idea of having gold in my possession in today’s economy.
