What is Pilates?

I joined a local gym about a year ago and have only taken a few of the classes they offer. One of the more popular ones seems to be the pilates classes. I have never taken one because I don’t really know anything about pilates. I think it involves a lot of stretching but from what I hear, it is quite a good workout. I am always looking to vary my workout program so maybe I will try a class soon. Who knows? Perhaps I will catch onto the craze and get hooked. If not, I am only out an hour, and I’m sure my body will still benefit.
