My friend will be starting a diabetic diet soon

A friend is on the way home from the doctor’s office. He is upset, yet relieved. He just found out that he is a diabetic. He has not been feeling well, so he went to see a family doctor. He went for some tests, including blood work. He went to see the doctor again today, to discuss the findings. He learned that his blood sugar is high. He is a diabetic and will be starting a diabetic diet as soon as he gets home. He has to try to control his blood sugar with diet and exercise. If that fails to keep the condition under control, he will have to start taking medications. I am relieved to hear that it is not more serious. I am still worried about him though. I know that diabetes can cause serious complications.
