Are custom golf clubs any good?

I have been playing golf for awhile and recently have found out that you can get custom golf clubs which are specially customised for your needs. A bit of research online shows that there are actually several different companies which produce and sell custom golf clubs. It seems that the customisation process is very important and some of the higher end custom makers will provide a very personalised service. It is not a cheap service though, the prices I have seen vary, but can be upwards from around £1000. If you feel that your golf game is at the stage where it would benefit from custom golf clubs, by all means you should think of investing. However, if you still have a high handicap like me, the advantages gained from custom golf clubs will be minimal. Think carefully before you invest!
