Be careful what you download online

The most common way spyware and adware infects your machine is via direct downloads. Quite simply, this is where you download a program, execute it, and become infected.

How can you protect yourself against this?

Well, the first thing you need to do is get yourself a good Spyware Cleaner. Next, you need to be well aware of everything you downlad. Typical stuff that is bundled with spyware and adware is stuff like smiley faces, screensavers, emoticons and other entertainment related stuff. If you want to downlod things like this, be very cautious.

If you are looking for a piece of software or some application, always stick to trusted sites such as download.com and softpedia.
