Goofy Themes for a Maine Wedding

If you are planning a Maine wedding and you want a lighthearted and goofy theme – Maine has plenty to offer. There are many iconic Maine images that translate into excellent Maine wedding themes. One of the most iconic Maine images is the lighthouse. There are a number of lighthouses in Maine where couples can either get married or spend the night or both! You can also set up a model or cardboard cutout of a lighthouse at your reception and have people sign it or take pictures in front of it. Another goofy Maine theme is the moose. One candy store in Southern Maine even went as far as to make a life size moose out of solid chocolate. Chocolate “moose” makes for excellent dessert or party favors at a Maine wedding. The most popular Maine wedding theme is by far the beach – and by extension the lobster – or, as Mainers call it, “lobstah.” You can create a lobster themed wedding by decorating the tables and cake with red candy lobsters, having an old fashioned lobster bake for dinner, or by decorating the reception area with lobster traps and authentic lobster boat accessories. Whatever Maine theme you choose – have fun with it. Nothing is too kitschy for a true “Mainah.”
