Rich in History: Venice Beach California

Venice Beach California is rich in history beginning with the idea of a hotel being built with a Venice Italy theme. The canals would be the focal point of the entire project that would make the Venice theme a reality. The work began on the canals in 1904 and completed by 1905 for the opening of the Venice of America. Making way for the automobiles, many of the canals were filled in and today there are only a few canals that still exist. It is enjoyable still to visit Venice Beach California and imagine what it was like in 1905. I am sure it was a thrill to have something unique and it probably helped the state with tourism.
