The River of the Loire Valley

January 14th, 2009

The Loire is the main river which runs through France’s famous Loire Valley. This river is regarded by many as one of the last untamed rivers in all of France. The untouched landscapes that roll through the valley have actually received UNESCO World Heritage listing with a world-renowned architectural heritage. It is an understandable listing when you consider how many such valleys have been destroyed by industry and development throughout the generations. The Loire Valley won UNESCO World Heritage listing because of its astonishing and breathtaking beauty over a length and breadth of its 745 square kilometre surface area.
